Reset Week

Reset Week

8 Seasons

What is a reset week?
A reset week is 4-7 consecutive days of non-strenuous exercise. Strenuous exercise includes challenging cardiovascular work (All the non-recovery Evlo classes, running, hard bike rides, HIIT).

Why take a reset week?
A reset week can allow your immune system to heal tissue and helps to avoid plateaus, injuries, and mental/physical burnout.

When to take a reset week?
Take a reset week when you've been training consistently for 8-12 weeks (even as an Evlo member!) and experiencing ~2 or more of the following symptoms:
- Joint aches (if you have an acute injury, please consult a doctor or PT)
- Muscle weakness
- Decreased muscle activation
- Fatigue
- Decreased motivation

How to take a reset week?
We want to move in enjoyable, gentle ways each day. Activities could include anything that lightly elevates your heart rate - around 110 beats/minute. You should be able to easily hold a conversation. Examples include:
- Walking
- Easy hikes
- Easy swims
- Easy bike rides
- Gentle yoga
- Any of the classes in this category!

Remember, rest is PRODUCTIVE! We encourage you to enjoy this little time off. We believe you're likely to come back stronger, more motivated, and feeling more effective in your training!
